Dec 18: WHL Sarah at the Bell & Hare

WHL Sarah chats to Phil before the game. If she looks confident, then so she should. Spurs won 5-1. I’ll say that again. FIVE - one. Got that? Good!

BTW, I broke the rules with this shot. They say you should always shoot colour, preferably raw mode, and convert to b&w in post processing as you get a ‘better’ conversion. Why trust Canon’s in-camera b&w when you get more control in PhotoShop. Well, you know what? I don’t care. I wanted b&w photographs, so why waste time fiddling around on a PC when the camera has a b&w mode? So, I set the little G2’s mode dial to b&w and shot away. I’ve done the raw mode and channel mixer thing many times, and quite honestly, I prefer taking photographs to messing about with them on the PC. Sure you can get a different result, but better? I’m not so sure about that. We’ve trusted Ilford’s / Kodak’s Agfa’s / Fuji’s b&w ‘conversion’ for years, so what’s the difference?

Now you just need an extra button for adding that old iso 400 grain and your b&w shooting will be perfect :-)

I love black and white. And it's time consuming to always have to fiddle in PS. I wish my Rebel could shoot b&w~

I don't do much b&w as you know, but your points are well taken. Here the toning is excellent, and I like how I can see her face clearly even with the diffent levels of light etc.
