Feb 8: Camera swap

Linda was out in the garden with my 300D and 100f2 today. My 100mm isn't the macro version like Ian's, so she had to use her close up lenses on the front. I hate the thought of what that cheap glass in front of such a wonderful lens, but we don't have much choice with our gear at the moment. Meanwhile I got to use the G3 for this one of her doing the macro thing. (That fence behind is a horrible shade of brown, so I converted to B+W with channel mixer, yet another missing feature of Elements that I've made work)

Linda says "Boy, that thing's heavy". Hmmm should I tell her my plans for a 1Dmkii??

A year ago today: My PotD Feb 8 2003

Canon PowerShot G3
1/60s f/5.0 at 28.8mm full exif

Nice to see you, Linda! I, too like pictures of other photographers. Tony thinks it's now a funny thing to do...to take MY picture while I'm looking for a photo!

Maybe I was in Tv mode and selected that classic amongst shutter speeds, 1/60!

F5? What sort of a namby-pamby, non-photographer aperture is that? I dunno - let you loose with my little camera and you go all silly on me! Whatever happened to good old f4 or f5.6? You clearly can't be trusted with my G3!
