Jan 12: Grandad's vice

I believe that this is my Grandad's vice. I was given a load of his old tools years ago after he died. He screwed it to an old block of wood and is the most useful thing to have around. I can clamp it to a table, or a chair, or it can just sit as is for smaller jobs. Today it helped me cut a length of chain for a new porch light installation.

I don't have any old tools of my Dad's, although I do have his old tool box if that counts!

But it's lovely to use something that can still do the job. Do you think there will ever be an 'Argos' or 'Home Depot' museum in 100 years time?

Very cool. I got a few of my dad's old tools when he passed. I can't use or look at them without thinking of him. And when I work on the MG, I feel as if he's looking over my shoulder.
