I haven't seen it but am now curious. The actual Amazon page for the film itself ( not the same as the VHS search) is:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0055230/ I just saw Hopper recently in "Meet the Deedles" with Paul Walker in his first starring role. Walker delivers the line "You had cake?" with an almost unbearable pathos and shows the kind of talent which would finally fully reveal itself in the truck stop scene in "Joy Ride"
Hopper, on the other hand was so dickulous that he was ree-dickulous! This film also featured Robert Englund, who I believe lived on Cabrillo at one point and surfed the breakwater now and then.....

I know this is POP, but this photo also made me think of the movie "Night Tide" made in 1960 by Curtis Harrington at SM Pier starring a very young and gorgeous Dennis Hopper (note to venicepix - in a Sailor Suit , yet! ; ) .
Shot above the merry-go-round and around the pier it's an amazingly wistful visual trip.
