I think this ramp was on Dudley Ave. in the vacant lot (which isn't vacant anymore). Joe had it here before they moved it behind his house.

It was my mistake here, a typo on the date which I've fixed!!! This was 1978 not 1972 and this skater definately is Karra's brother Avery (http://www.pbase.com/venicepix/image/45545271) and I've just posted another picture of the blond brother-of-Greg Avery holding a picturehttp://www.pbase.com/venicepix/image/45835292 The picture Kelly describes ishttp://www.pbase.com/venicepix/image/45303645 but he's mixing it up with another group shot which will be up soon...

I have a zillion of Greg and Avery but at this point I'm totally confused about who is who which is only to be expected.I didn't know or can't remember a lot of the nicknames or even last names. I was always out at the edge. I was planning a gallery of brothers/twins, but I think that I may just surrender to the chaos. I'm also planning a space for those who have died, but I don't want to make a lot of gross mistakes ( hey, didn't I "die of AIDS"... LJ and I are very thankful that we didn't..a lot of friends did....)so give me some time...

I was wondering if Greg was alive also but, no Kenji was appearantly murdered, Greg's cuz. I thought I had heard that he was..(R.I.P.) Buddah I don't know where he is, would love to see him tho

Oh no, are saying Greg Buddah was killed? Damn, he was so sweet! I just assumed he was living his life somewhere with a family and all... I can't believe it. I have a beautiful pic of him in my kitchen, with that Buddah smile...

Yeah I was pissed that Westminster Elementary was right behind my house, but I had to take the bus to Westchester everyday cuz of that stupid busing thing they started back then. Jaime went there too and I think we hold the record for the most times ever suspended. I think he just wanted to ditch school and would pick a fight with me knowing I'd fight back. Funny thing is I skipped a grade that year, never went to fifth grade.

Kenji got murdered in Riverside like 5 years ago. I shoot kites with Illya over on myspace. he told me Ohm and himself along with you went to Loyola Village . I went to the " regular " side while yall went to the "magnet" side. (lucky bastards) I'll never forget Darell at that Public Enemy concert !!

Yeah he has pics of them(Greg and Avery and their older brother Darell Digong(sp?)R.I.P. And Greg "Buddah" (Kenji from sho-lines cuzzin, did he pass away too?) and few others I saw Years ago, There is one of me and Avery Grant too, I think the jacket I am wearing looks like a dress, and were holding pics from Dave There is pics of Ohm(R.I.P.) too, looking like Jimi Hendrix (think that is a dave pic) Damn we got alot of Dead homies....

No way, that is my beautiful little brother, Avery Grant, true Venice local born and raised. Look at his form! Athletic and graceful... And that's the ramp in back of Joe's house. Yeah it was a halfpipe. Venicepix, I know there's at least one more beautiful shot from this session of my brother, hope you can post it....
