- 30th April 2005 - EasyPeasy!!

This is Daniel, the son of Kathryn and Chris. It's the only photo I took today!
However Rob MacDonald the band solo cornet player did take lots of the training band's performance today (I was busy conducting....)
Daniel's showing how easy it really is to play a BBflat bass!
The shot is far from ideal, with cluttered background etc etc -
I'll have to do a set-up version for a PR shot :)

I feel I should explain the jacket! it's an old one I used to wear when living and working in Switzerland. With my apparently dutch/scandanavian french accent it gave me a mainland European iage, which seemed to sit well with the role! At the time being English wasn't somehow ideal. It's been sitting in the cupboard for a few years now, but seemed ideal for wagging the stick in. The tie was from the Trafford Centre a few months ago.... makes the kids smile anyway :)

Outing went well, the band played well and everyone seemed to enjoy it.... Next outing May 8th down by the river in Chester - Training Band is on at 3pmish....

what a great shot!! I am sure he was told not to touch it. This is what happens.

Great shot - lovely capture!

Wish I could have heard this. I love the shot, including the background observers. I also love the stretched, distorted upside-down-guy reflected in the horn at the bottom.

Horntastic!

That's cute & I like the " Men In Black " look & how they are watching what Daniel is doing.

This is funny and cute. I don't know. I think the background adds a contrasting dimension to the the shot. All the serious dressy people vs. the childlike innocence. But what do I know? :)

the capture makes me smile.. children are so curious.
Dan Chusid01-May-2005 03:13
Agreed about the distractive background. Since your foreground is so light (boy and instrument) why not go black and white to neutralize the distraction. ...Just a thought.

What a superb capture! Did he have a go at blowing?
Elaine (etfitz)01-May-2005 01:51

So Funny!

LOl, what a great candid. The instrument looks 2x the child's size.

Captures the wonder of childhood.

I love how that child seems so impressed by its reflection. Wonderful captured. Impressive instrument.

It may be the only photo you took today, but it's a classic!!!!!
