Language difficulties

With my English accent, I always have trouble making the serving staff understand me in restaurants here in Michigan when I ask for 'glass of water' and usually get my American friends to ask for it on my behalf. This evening I went out to dinner with an English friend, so thought I would try and order my own drinks, a glass of wine and a glass of water with a slice of lemon......... and THIS is what the waitress brought me!

Your photo proves that you're still not assimilated into the language, Tricia. LOL
