When I first moved to Michigan in the dead of winter, I thought it was a joke when I saw hummingbird feeders for sale in the pet store, how on earth could such exotic, tiny little birds possibly live in Michigan I wondered?? They do come for the summer though, the first year I was here I saw them in June, and this year it was 4th May when I spotted my first one - it flew past as I was holding the feeder, about to hang it in a tree, as I stood talking to my son who saw it too so it was not my imagination! I have been trying on and off since then to get a nice photo of one, but could waste HOURS trying to get the perfect shot, as they fly in and out so fast and are constantly moving at great speed, and don't have that much spare time!
I can only improve on this shot, but it is an interesting capture I think. I wanted to get his bright red throat shining and am happy I managed to do that.
