Pink stemmed wildflower

Northville, Michigan

This bright reddish-pink plant caught my eye the other day when I took
Teddy out for his walk, so went back today to get some photos of it with
the beautiful blue sky behind (and a helicopter as a bonus!).
I do not know what it is, it is approx 6 feet tall - I did get one photo
of Teddy with it for scale, but he is blown out and not looking so good so
I did not post that one.
I used a polariser to bring out the colours in the plant and the sky.

Thanks for the ID Randy, I had the name Chokeberry stuck in my head, but the plant is not that, so after your response I see I was not far off - just the first letter or two!

Tricia...that's actually a Pokeweed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pokeweed. Love the contrast with the sky!

Hi Tricia,
I believe that's called "Kiss me over the Garden Gate. " My cousin has some in her yard and that's what she said it was. I was just looking at a picture of hers I took today so I remembered otherwise I wouldn't have. This is a beautiful shot of it.
