Studio flowers with dark background

These beautiful flowers I bought at the Farmers Market deserved to have a portrait
photo taken of them, so I set them up under the studio lighting and took some shots.
I thought I would prefer them with the light background, but now can't decide which
version I like best. Click on the thumbnail to see the version with the light background.
I have a lot to learn about how best to set up shots like this - I had hoped the
flowers would have more of a 3D look to them than they have...
Any advice you can give me would be gratefully received!

Definitely the dark background. The colors are richer and the arrangement appears to be fuller!! Georgous!!

I guess it´s about shadows/ lights. Now it´s pretty much the same on the whole boquet, should be much less from one side. And maybe light up the background a bit from under.
Hey, I don´t have studiolights yet ;O) but in the natural light-shots often you get nice depth with light from one side... And strengthen the blacks and add some contrast...
