It was a beautifully sunny Sunday afternoon, with temperatures above freezing for once,
and it felt just so wonderful to get out and spend some time outdoors, so we went to
Kensington Metro Park. Of the many beautiful things we saw there, we noticed that
some ladies were holding out birdseed out on their hands to attract and feed some wild birds.
We watched in fascination for a while, and when they left they kindly gave us their leftover
seed so Sayer grasped the opportunity to try and attract the nuthatches onto his hand as
he had always wanted to do.
He was so pleased when they started to land on his left hand and take the nuts
and seeds. I took this photo of his hand with a nuthatch on it, seemingly saying thank you
to him for the nut before flying off.
Sayer had a camera in his right hand so click here to see his wonderful close-up shot
