A little history on this unique car: The "Mountainair" was first constructed as the "Laurel Ridge" - a private car owned by heirs to USS Steel. The car was purchased second hand in the early 1960s by the Santa Fe. The car was subsequently repainted and renamed by the ATSF as shown above per prototype practice. Model by Mark McLeod.
