I ate here in 1974 while on a Wes pac onboard the USS St. Louis LKA - 116. The 12 course meal was terrific.

I was there in '66 also. Chop Sticks gone, but still have menu! Food was interesting. We had a seven, or so, course meal, the main course was Rice. I remember the small serving plates, more like small tea cup saucers, and really tough prawns. Desert was Sunkist Orange slice.
Still I enjoyed it

I ate there in 1970. I still have the chopsticks as others have mentioned. At the time I was particularly impressed with the corn & crabmeat soup. When I got home, home at that time was in Hawaii, I tried to duplicate that soup. I think I came pretty close. Now 40 years later, I'm trying to make that soup again. Memory has faded a bit, but I'm making soup that is good, but it is not the same.

I was there in 1966 on R&R, remember picking out your fish from the tanks, it was huge, but was it good. That was the first time I had fish with the head still on. I am 65 and will never forget it. Anyone remember what movie the restaurant was in with Pierce Brosnan in it.

I ate there in 1966 and have the original menu and a postcard with the picture on it while I was there in the US Navy. We were in the harbor and I also took a ride on the tram into the mtn top. Had a beer at the hong kong hilton and watched a movie on the Cowloon side. Was the first time I had Chinese food. Never forget the ride in the junk to get there.
Best food I ever ate.

Ate here many times when on R&R.. The ride out in a small san pan was a real trip. Great food and wonderful people. Tom Oppelt

Lovely to see it again as my father ate there when I was 10 years old and I ate there when I was 30 years old. (I'm now 68)

I ate there with my mother and father in 1964--I was 12. I remember it well. You picked your specific fish to eat from tanks. I was young so I had sweet and sour pork (yawn). Lovely place. A long taxi ride from downtown Hong Kong, though--my mother wondered if we were being kidnapped. Ah, the 1960s and the Bond films. And I, too, have chopsticks from there--nice ivory-looking plastic with "Tai Pak H. K." printed in English and Chinese on them--I just used them with some wonderful Chinese food from our local excellent NJ Chinese restaurant. Warm memories--of Hong Kong and Tai Pak, that is.

En route pour le Japon, Je me souviens d'être passé au Tai Pak en 1962 1963.
J'ai toujours le menu,
Je me souviens d'avoir choisi un homard , vivant fond du bateau.

I do remember that, I ate at the Tai Pak in my way to Japan in 1962 1963.
I had a lobster that I choosen from the botom of the restaurant

I visited the Tai Pak in 1965, and again in 1989! I still have chop sticks from both visits.

Not sure if this floating restaurant is the Tai Pak or not.
The Tai Pak is still there but its position has been taken up by the Jumbo.

Fabulous reflections. If you had cropped those to be the only thing in this shot, it would be a fabulous abstract as well. This is a beauty with all the colors! Wonderful shot!
