Indeed it looks like a scene from days gone by. It seems like a symbol of China, waiting for 1999 to arrive. The position of the camera behind the leaves creates a sense of watching from the wings.
I recognize this tiger at the Tiger Balm Gardens. Sadly, the property was sold to KS Li and was completely demolished and redeveloped more than ten years ago. Thanks for showing us what we started from forty years ago.
