I was stationed in Gelnhausen, not far from Hanau. I do think (if I remember correctly, which I probably don't--I'm pretty old ) that I used to have to pull guard duty there "68 and "69? I do remember having to drive a 5 ton truck there more than once either on delivery or making a pick up. I also remember taking a road sign with me while turning an impossibly tight corner once. I kept driving as if it never happened. I definitely remember that.
