Many years ago, before I came along, Cathi planted a set of tulip bulbs.
She says they only bloomed that first year.
I can vouch for that as I've had the same experience at my previous house.
Where I live, tulip bulbs have to be dug up every year and put in the freezer for a while and then replanted if you want blooms.
If you don't follow that practice you'll only get the foliage.
Imagine our surprise when we returned from the beach to find one lone tulip in bloom in the back yard garden!
Perhaps that freeze we had in January did some good after all.
Oh, don't mind that aphid...
