So many of the familiar landmarks and old signs are disappearing from the local landscape.
Every day I notice something has been torn down, painted over or demolished.
Whenever I drive past this place I expect it to be the last time.
So I took this photo as a precaution.
It's an old fashioned hardware store.
It's been around forever.
This is the kind of place where you'll find exactly what you need that you couldn't find in the big home centers.
The kind of place where you walk up to the counter and say "I need one of these..."
and the guy behind the counter can lead you right to the shelf and the little drawer for that special bolt and nut...
So, in a way, this photo is nostalgia and preservation all rolled in to one.
