Today, something a little less "enlightened"...

The part I needed to repair the dishwasher arrived today. It was a hose, much like this one, but without the intervention of rats.
When I got home tonight, I swapped them out only to find the extent of the damage. I present to you exhibit A.
You can almost see their little teeth marks where they ATE this hose!

In the meantime, all's quiet on the rat front. No evedence of activity and Sophie has gone back to barking at people on the street...
Is it too early to hope it's all done with?
