These sphinx completely devoured every leaf and green shoot of my mom's fragipani tree in Matthew Town, Great Inagua island in The Bahamas. Glad to know the tree will rejuvinate.

In the garden here in Tobago hoards of them completely strip a frangipani, miraculously the tree just bursts back into growth and full bloom. Its fascinating just watching them when they are stuffed fit to burst and then later dragging themselves around in what looks like a crusty sleeping bag. I've been watching the chrysalis and now know it turns into a huge moth; still trying to find out the name of the moth!
