Those spots can be variable, sometimes barely visible if there at all. There's about 20 subspecies and species of Garter Snakes throughout the country, each with a different look. Also there's a few other snakes like Ribbon Snakes that look similar.

I found a what I think is a Garter about 2' it's head dos'nt have those two yellow dot's. Please help.
