The identity of this beetle is worth to be discussed. In fact, I see nothing to contradict my thesis that this is a species of Catops.
I don´t know personally the genus Prionochaeta, and found only one picture from another source (cedarcreek.umn.edu) on the web. On this picture, the pronotum is clearly widest at base, add not near middle as in the one here.
