Returned to Mt Bogong after failing to reach the summit by just 120m back in July. Saturday was a exhausting day going up the Staircase Spur and we set up camp at a saddle near Castor and Pollux. We then ascended to the summit in the wind, going up some steep icy slopes before finally reaching the summit at around 4pm. It was a very cold night down in the camp, the surface was well frozen by sunset. Next day, visibility improved greatly and we ascended the summit one more time before heading back.
