Red Rumped Parrot

This is a grass eating parrot.
I watched it for some time but did not
manage to get a shot of its impressive
red tail feathers.
It was taken west of The Blue Mountains of NSW.
One can see that the ground is very dry and there are
numerous bare patches in the ground cover.

Thanks, Hal. I thought you would be interested to see it. It has a spectacular red back end but couldn't get a shot of it in The time I was there :-(. Next time perhaps.

Thanks for your kind comment, Terry. It was quite happy to eat the grass for a while but I was caught unawares when he was scared by a dalmatian.
