9-2-2014 Adult Coopers Hawk at our feeders

Best in Original Size

A treat at least for us, not the other birds...

The shot looks a bit like a zoo shot, but it was actually on the stand just above our feeders.

Thanks, Michael...yes, no birds around him! He tends to watch the ground with those fierce eyes, looking mainly for quail, I think :(

Beautiful specimen. He' sure to be by himself! Those guys drive the sparrows crazy around here. Don't seem to have much luck with the purple martins, though. They laugh at those predators.

Boy, don't they look mean???? We had a red-tailed hawk in our yard last week. I ran to get my camera, but he went under our blue spruce and back out again with a prize, and off he went. I admire that you got such an awe-inspiring shot.

What a superb shot Terry. Beautiful clarity
Somehow it's always special, at least for me,
to get shots of predators.
We rarely have any around here.
