San Juan Island, Washington

Cattle Point Lighthouse

Cattle Point Lighthouse is a lighthouse on San Juan Island, in the Haro Straits of
Washington. Its first light was a lens lantern on a post erected in 1888. In 1921,
the US Navy installed a radio compass station.

The modern 34 foot, octagonal, concrete tower on Cattle Point was erected in 1935.
The lighthouse received a temporary makeover in 1984, when it was used as a backdrop for an Exxon television commercial.

As of 2013, the light is part of the San Juan Islands National Monument

Marvelous composition, with leading lines. Really love the great light, too.

Remarkable photo Jim, with so much of interest.
The road, the lighthouse, with inlet, the hills and the snowcapped
mountains. A photo with great depth and loads of interest

Beautifully composed and shot, Jim! What a great spot and how lucky we are that treasures like this are being preserved.
