Oasis in the desert

Lake Havasu City, Arizona

The interesting thing about this photo, is that it was shot on Kodak Ektar (and converted to black and white in post) with my $95 Russian Jupiter 8 (vintage) lens. I scanned it on my Nikon 9000 LS and added zero sharpening...not even capture sharpening. I even lowered the contrast with a curve because the foliage looked too crispy.

Nice work in sepia tones. Love the composition. Makes me wonder if the man in the shot is relieving himself. I'm sure he isn't but that is what popped into my head when I saw it. LOL!

I love the level of contrast, lovely gray tones and, of course the sharpness.
What a great deal on the lens! Plate Tectonics must explain how the
London Bridge managed to get to the desert....

Great glass. These lenses are like the little girl with th little curl...when they are good they are very good.
This one is one of the gems from the FSU.
The detail is astonishing.
This image reminds me of the old M2 I had with the Rigid summicron.

The lens has to be my deal of the century. It is a keeper. The good thing is that it is just a tiny lens and an f/2, at that. It is of note that the lens was tuned by Brian Sweeney before I bought it. It is his magic that makes it shine on my 3 Leica cameras.

I'm chuckling a bit about Frank's Comment - it was my first thought at well. My second thought is that I wish I could find a lens that sharp for $95.
