Drummer

Shiloh, Tennessee

Permit me a re-shoot of a prior image with a different lens, different time. This is Shiloh National Military Cemetery today, a warm, gray day before the storms began. I have wanted to post an image which I felt emotionally about for quite a while.

Leica M8 ,Canon 50/1.2 LTM
1/1500s at f/1.2 iso160 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

A very powerful image Michael. The shallow depth of field and the clustered headstones in the background really add to the emotional impact.

Thanks, everyone.
This is a special place to me, as well to our country. This guy's headstone is off to itself, near the site of US Grant's headquarters during the Shiloh battle.

Michael, This is a really special monument. It is made more special by your beautiful portrait of it.

A Very moving image
The human race, clinging to life on the one hand
and dispensing death indiscriminately on the other,
takes some understanding.
Excellent photo Michael
