Nice country shots but I can''t imagine the temparature as we have just been to Wales and it just about got up to 21/22c in August.

The cornfields of KS....love that church and how the road leads you in. Does look a tad hot! excellent image!
Rudi 15-Aug-2010 15:26
Lovely rural setting, even if it was too hot for you! ;-)

A lovely shot Michael.

I love this rural scene Michael. I grew up in corn country, maize in Africa, and a nice time of the day.

Great country scene Michael. I like that fact that this could be any number of places in the rural US, or Canada for that matter. It personifies the rural life.

A fine landscape in composition and soft colors!

Yes, Hal, same school as earlier in the week. Bob, this was shot about 5PM, when the temperature was only 103 degrees F. (40 C) I literally got out of the car, left the engine running, shot about 4 compositions, and got back in. I can hear Rudi from even this distance..(" Hey, mate, wht's the problem with the temps???")
Terry and Cindy, thanks, I moved around a bitI tried other compositions trying to use the road differently. This was my avorite, but not for the reason you have mentioned. (Though I do agree.) As you may be able to tell, this location allowed me to stand in the SHADE of a large oak tree...

A lovely shot Michael. A good stand of corn and l assume that's a school building ?
How nice to be able to stand in the middle of the road and not get flattened or cursed

Michael, you are getting some wonderful shots of rural America. I hope
you are not cooking under that strong sun during the mid-day hours.
Terry 15-Aug-2010 02:44
A beautiful rural setting, Michael. I like the way you positioned
the road.

Out in the country on a dirt road...how wonderful. Is that a church or a schoolhouse?. I like how you positioned the corn in front of it. The road and fence lead my eye into the photo.
