Kansas averages just under 50 Tornadoes a year, I'm sure you have nothing to worry about Michael, not that you want to take a chance at all.... great perspective here....

Wow....leads right into the storm. Yep, don't want to get the camera wet. Cool shot of it blowing in.

Wow, this is really great! Love the mood!

Nice storm bewing, like a wizard of Oz one, yes good background for this vanishing point shot. You'd be done for tresspassing in UK on a railroad or railway line as we call them.

I like what you did here, Michael. The wonderful vanishing point of
the tracts and telephone lines leads the eye to the approaching
rather dramatic storm.

Great point of view from which to see the storm - nice shot.

Love it. The vanishing railroad tracks would be a great
photo on their own, but the storm in the background makes
this perfect. The bird tends to pull my eye off of the
tracks though (minor nit).

It was pretty strange, Cindy.
The wind blew up off the plains so very fast, and the storm blew into a severe storm within about 90 minutes.
I would estimate the wind at 45-55 mph...
The bird was trying to turn after flying off a telephone line, and coukdn't get going the right way.
He was veering away from the storm, and the unbelievable lightning when I released the shutter.
Pretty surreal...

I love the lighting and your POV. I can see rain off in the distance. Is that a bird in a strange pose? Very eerie.

Thanks, Cheryl.
Five minutes later this storm blew down a tree in front of my rental car...
