Note the diagnostic contrasting white fringes to breast and flank feathers; compare Short-billed at http://www.pbase.com/image/149985476 . Also note bars on the side of the breast, compared to spots on the Short-billed (both have bars on the flanks.) Solid red background color for underparts also a good mark for Long-billed, as is black, white, and rufous pattern on upperparts, compared to brown, buff, and orange for Short-billed.
