Short-billed Dowitcher, molting to breeding plumage

Radio Road

Even in breeding plumage (partial in this case) identification of adult dowitchers is difficult where both species are found, but in this case the mostly buff-orange (so less visible) rather than all-white fringes to fresh wing covert and flank feathers, dots rather than bars on the side of the breast, and tips of primaries extending beyond tertials all point to Short-billed.
