Yes you can, but you must first be wealthy and apply for citizenship.

1-dupi, if you don't know what to say about something, spare yourself from saying things like that. I could also say that your culture is stupid. nx!

People here are brimming with ignorance. Let me try to show you culture in southeren africa.
For most Nguni cultures(Xhosa, Zulu, Zwati) it was acceptable for women/girls who are not married (Iintombi) not to cover their breasts. This would be done in everyday culture as a norm!

Only after we adopted western beliefs and chritianity was there a problem.
Now we have ignorant people who think cerenomonies like the Reed Dance are immoral and nudist. Well, in south africa we have one or two nude beaches but No problem there hey!!! If you are looking at this and you are african and you have a problem i feel deep simpathy for you.

There are also people calling this ceremony barbaric.... Well there is a festival in Spain where people are chased by bulls and sometime badly injured, can that not be seen as barbaric?

Personally I enjoy all cultures for what they are because values cannot be uniform across all cultures.

Phambili Afrika!

their families get penalized w/ one cow if they do not participate. if this is african culture- the forcing of young girls to parade around for some selfish african king- this culture stinks! ive heard that he started his himself about 10 yrs ago. this is ridiculous. he needs to worry more about the starving people over there not his libido

In fact, I compare Umhlanga to Wilder beast migration in Kenya's Maasai Mara and Tanzania's Serengeti National Parks. It is another wonder of the world- probably the 8th wonder as it happens nowhere else except Southern Africa. Kudos to the young beauties and queens of Africa.
Those calling it primitive are just envious of the natural African beauty. This is pure and respectable African culture. If one calls it immaral, then what would he/she call pornography from the west?

I'm told that all the girls participating in the umhlanga are virgins. If that is so, then why criticise a culture that preserves virginity to that age? In most cultures these days, virgins are only upto 10 years.
Guest 07-Nov-2006 00:01
Africa has beauties but do we need to expose them like this these days.
