This is the cottage in Dorset England where T.E. Lawrence lived in semi-seclusion in the last years of his life. It is near the village of Wool, which is on a train line, and accessible from London. Walking the rest of the way, we passed by a country hotel that was a site in Thomas Hardy's novel Tess of the D'Urbervilles. At the time, (this was in the mid-1970's) the locals were none to friendly to young American couples finding this landmark. Maybe things are better now.
