Mexican Star quilt made for Kris P, for Christmas 2005. Pattern came from Quick Quilts #48 magazine, "Southwest Star" and I changed the colorway on it. Mexican Star can be found in most patchwork quilt books, as well. This one is made of lavender batik and purple fireworks fabrics with grey and white star prints for the center of the blocks. I used a backgroud of plain black to contrast with the lighter purples and to show off the stars and the lattice pattern they form.
