It was a 998 mile near non-stop road trip to get Mortie home. Mortie had to endure half that and he did just fine. He cried some at first but then was quiet except for some sneezing. Just about all the cats at the shelter were suffering from a upper respiratory virus. I suspect he has ear mits and fleas since he was being kept caged outside on a open back porch.
