Mu-1 and Mu-2 Scorpii

The fine optical double, Mu-1 and Mu-2 in the curve of Scorpius, a chance alignment. Mu-1, the brighter of the two is some 820 Light Years away and is actually a true double star but beyond the capabilities of the 5" refractor. Mu-2 is at a distance of 515 Light Years. Both stars are connected only as part of the massive Scorpius-Centaurus Association.

Prime focus of the Takahashi FS-128.
