Bawdsey Manor was sold to the RAF in 1936, and was used thereafter in the development of RADAR.
My uncle,Flight Lieutenant Robert Dalgliesh ,worked in RADAR during WW2.ALL THE FAMILY KNEW AT THE TIME WAS THAT HE HAD A CAR AND A DRIVER.see http://www.bawdseyradar.org.uk/
