Norris was a lover of all nature and so of the honey bee.
He had many hives and his honey was said to be THE BEST! When friends and also to strangers who saw Norris approaching with his out stretched, hand they would soon be the recipent of a jar of his honey. He delighted in sharing....

In the foot hills of
The Blue Ridge Mountains
Where North Carolina
And Virginia meet
There is a county
Called Surry, where
Bees make honey sweet.
Around the town of
Mount Airy
Where wild flowers
And sour woods
Bloom, they work
From dawn to dust
Flying from hive
To field to gather
Nectar as they must
Their honey combs to fill.
All their actions are
Governed by law
For honey they
Must make
Happy are they
Who work each day
To give as well
As take.
