Excellent display of ancient detai, Carol. You might also wish to try cropping it so that the hand works as a diagonal, leading from corner to corner. Although you only would retain a quarter of this image, it would have more dynamic composition and still stress that beautiful detail.
I don't know if this clock had any carvings or figures next to it or not, but if it did, it might have also helped to include one to provide a sense of scale.
