Facing east, just moments before the sun disappeared over the horizon behind me. Very low light is often the most striking time to photograph landscape features, but the colors and textures of this Bryce Canyon scene just defeated me in the moment. The colors look so stark and alien, and the textures so razor sharp, I just couldn't stop looking (or shooting). That last shred of rainbow was a nice exclamation point.
