Taken at Union Station. I don't really know if this fits the challenge or not, but I think the noise in the centurions adds to the contrast with the barrel ceiling. (My intent was to photograph the ceiling, and the guardians just happened to be there :-))

Monumental seems the wrong word to use for a monument. This photo opens out into a vast interior space and gives the feeling of being overawed. The guardians are not at all out of place in this image, and, as you say, contrast well with the ceiling.
