Very clever and well done.

Very original idea, and well executed!

Nicely done, Frank!
Don't forget there's an MC Escher homage group on Flickr.

Okay, I have to stop looking at this because snakes creep me out, but you got a lovely catch of this!

Thanks again, fellows!

Finally I think I know what I kind of dislike with this version. Too square ... :-)
Thus I tried another view and put it into the demo.http://www.pbase.com/stfchallenge/image/89450313 Let me know what you think about this. The available light was different though, which impacted the shot not inthe best way. I may need to go for a 3rd try.

Cheers, Frank

Really clever. The tile style and the snake make give me a creepy feeling. Totally well integrated...jrdu

Martin Polanic 25-Nov-2007 01:36
This is wild, Frank, highly imaginative work!

Great shot Frank. Good thinking and good source. For an even better Escher look: buy some more snakes.....

Thank you all for your comments.
Dale, the job was easier than it may look. I merged to exposures, one with and one without the snake. Thus the shadow came in for free. Still I am not perfectly happy with the way the snake disappears. May give it another try. It is not bad, but not perfectly what I am after.

Marvolous! Love the way you faded the body into the tile and the added shadow nailed it down. Great attention to details. Love it. Dale

Hehehe... Thank you for the smile Frank... Lovely image and a nice touch of pp too...
Denise18-Nov-2007 21:07
Frank, thanks for the links! We actually used to have that Mott the Hoople album!!!! We also have a couple of Escher books. I still would have never come up with something so creative ;-)) You are also correct in the B&W isn't for me....although I am appreciating the art more and more. This one pops with the color.

Denise18-Nov-2007 17:16
Frank, if I live to be 100, I will never be as creative as you are. This image is just stupendous!! The tiles are gorgeous. Be careful where you tread.

LOL - Oh Frank that is so cool! Very clever and I love the patterns in the tiles too!
