Looks like a track layer possibly. The crop is very nice for the composition, and the post treatment really gives it an industrial antique feel.

Pt-19... of course (should've seen that one coming ;))!! Tabrizi, I'm wondering if you're onto something... I had to look back at some other images I have on file from around the same date as this one and remembered that this is some kind of portable machine that travelled along train tracks (but it's not a train)... this thing is on display outside of a train station in a desert town, so maybe it is actually something that was used to excavate sand? Hmmm...

It's a Pt-19 of course. I really like the treatment here. I think the brightness livens up what would typically be presented as a very moody shot.
