What a cool shot; I love that laundry hanging out :-) Great job of getting just the right exposure for these two differently lighted areas, that's not easy to do. Very nicely done!

Thank you very much, Franky and MFC, for commenting. It’s an image I like very much myself, for mainly the same reasons you mention. I understand your suggestion, Franky, and—though I’m afraid I might not maintain the overall proportions of the photo as there is no empty space to crop neither on its upper nor on the lower margin—I’ll give it a try; if I succeed to my liking, I’ll post the result in the demo folder. — db.

Daniel, I really like the layers to this composition...I think it captures a lot of the character of the locale. Neat how everyone is gathered beneath the awnings eating while laundry hangs out to dry on lines just above. Again, nice time of day for this kind of shot. Good eye...nice photo, Daniel. MFC

Great! The image really is conveying the athmosphere. I love the mix of the natural and the artificial light. The open window on the balcony makes it perfect IMHO. * I would try a closer crop from the left side, only to leave the guy sitting on the left without the buggy. In general it is a picture that I would lilke to see in a higher resolution as there is so much to explore in it. Potentially you could make a few separate images out of it. :-)
