Beautiful capture of the ice and water, the b & w really helps to bring out the silky icicles. --Melanie

Beautiful composition, Mike! I'll add my vote and say the b&w is better, it just portrays coldness better this way. I like the shutter speed you chose too, to prevent the running water from looking like mist and instead making it evident as a contrast between frozen and thawed, just as the image is a contrast of black vs. white. This could easily be a spring shot too!

Good spot. Very effective b&w w/ contrast. Also, good mix of ice & water.

Beautiful and striking. Not to be agreeable or anything, but I think I do like the b&w version best as well. ;^) The ice looks rather like pendulous ornaments, the way it's all smooth at the top and textured at the bottom.

Mike, I'm fascinated by all that ice next to flowing water. I do like the conversion to b&w, but it must have been beautiful in "living color". Bev

Cool shot! I love the static ice next to the flowing water. Would have been nice to be able to use even a longer exposure IMHO. Agree to Kathrine about the b/w. Cheers, Frank

Thanks for putting the color version in the demo folder. I like this black/white one quite a bit better :-)

Great capture of the little waterfall - I really like those glistening icicles! I like your black and white conversion. I'd probably like this in color, too, but I bet the icicles look better in the black/white.version.
