Thanks Mike, Jerry, Helen and bottles! I agree on the grain that is a little too much here. Still the eyes are ok IMHO as they are very dark in nature. :-)

I like the tone here, Frank, and the blurred tree in the background. Nice looking boy as well!

Nice shot Frank, I love the expression on his face! Nice composition and I like the blurred background. * Just personal preference of course but I'd probably go for a little less noise. I'd also lighten his eyes some; an easy edit by carefully selecting the dark pupil and iris area and using Levels or Curves to lighten them. Very nice entry in any case though!

Frank, these portraits look very nice side-by-side like this. I like them both, but I really like your B&W conversion here...and the boy's cute, little smile and his "hat of character". Nice portraits...beautiful children. MFC

Two very nice compositions, Franky. I'd have a hard time choosing between them.

Thanks Melanie, Kathrine, Tabrizi and Martin for all your comments! My decision on b/w for this one was made right when I did the shot. Never even considered a color version. ;-) Looking back to it, alos with respect to the girl, which I work out after the boy, I would consider a rework in color for this one too. Please look into the demo folder for the original (www.pbase.com/image/71205387). Cheers, Frank

Excellent work Frank, as I commented in the 'girl' version! What's interesting to me about this one is your choice to go with b&w, which I'd say fits very well for a cold autumn picture... leaves have fallen, the days are becoming gray, etc etc. Super capture as usual and I agree with the b&w processing!

Cute...!!

Very cute portrait - I love the sweet smile on his face! Nice composition, toning and DOF, too.

Adorable! I love his expression, and the composition. I really like the monochrome here, but find myself curious to know what the color version looks like also. --Melanie
