31-OCT-2006 Helen Betts

Child of a Different Breed
by Helen Betts

Washington, D. C.

OK, this may be a stretch but Tilki is like our child, LOL. In fact, she acts just like a kid, a very spoiled one. We found her on the street in Ankara; she had obviously been abandoned. She moved with us to Okinawa and then back to Turkey via the States and Europe, so she has circled the globe around one-and-a-half times and is fluent in English, Turkish and Japanese. I took another one that I really liked today http://www.pbase.com/helenpb/image/69494691 (which was a major job considering how she refuses to stay still for very long), but I like the one I entered as the expression seemed sort of, well, child like.

Helen, what a great image!!! Not a stretch at all, everyone I know thinks their dogs are their children ;-)) This one makes me smile.

She looks like she either just heard, or just told, a good joke. Great shot.

They're both adorable, and I don't think it's a stretch at all. In fact, I almost did something similar :). --Melanie
