Tinker Toys
by johnebones

Just found out yesterday that this 'trauma' model built
using old orthopaedic fixation frames will
be featured on the cover of a medical magazine in the fall.

This little animation is just for fun.
The blinking tinker toys looked like neon lights to me.

I think I like the color ones best; I like the white background but the black almost equally, and I think the black shows everything up the best.

I think they are both great.
You are obviously at the intersect of art & technology.
Your structures are masterful!

Its actually a plastic thigh bone cut into pieces and then put back together with a bunch of surplus orthopaedic implants (among other things). I built the thing during my residency as a gift/joke for one of my trauma professors. Several different versions have been submitted to the magazine for consideration. They can be found here: http://www.pbase.com/johnebones/image/66644093
Do you have a preference ? I'm looking for suggestions. John (ebones)

Is it a model of a specific entity or an abstract sculpture?
Either way I sure like the way it looks.
