4th: going someplace

To me random groupings of people are like groups of musical notes.
What I particularly like about this composition is that you could slice it into several different sections & it would still work.

I really like this one a lot. There's a very random, natural yet strangely ordered feel to this. The sepia tone is perfect.

ps...I've added to the description here what I wrote in the description of this image in my Flickr site which pretty much summarizes my views on it.

Barbara - thank you much for your kind coments.
John - No such thing as haphazard when you're composing. Possibly the word serendipitous might make make a better fit. Have you ever seen the paintings of Balthus or Morandi? You should.
Hail hail Freedonia!

I don't understand the composition, it's just haphazard. I don't understand the treatment, it seems to have downgraded the quality, but that's just a wild guess. My enjoyment of this image, and I enjoy it a lot, is through looking at the individuals. Some are mostly hidden, some are contrasty, none are facing the camera, nevertheless it's a fine assortment of humanity. I should ask my drama students to portray this tableau.

the odd texture gives a most surrealistic touch to the picture...highly artistic! composition is absolutely great!
