Coquille Lighthouse
by Denise

Bandon, Oregon

This lighthouse was built in 1896. I took about 300 pics of this lighthouse at different times of the day but there were always shadows somewhere. I finally settled on this image since the shadows and light were so evenly divided.

Thanks Katherine and Melanie. The more I look at this image the more I like it ..especially the shadows ;-))

John, no I didn't crop it at all. Being an old time film photographer, I am still composing in the camera!! A habit I am actually trying to break a bit now that I have the H5. I have to remember to give myself some wiggle room!!! But I am intrigued, is there a reason why you asked if I cropped??

PP is still somewhat of a mystery to me, so the blue was blue. I am attempting to do more and more. bottles has been a huge help. He knows so much and also how to get the information across.

That blue sky is about as even as it gets....did you crop this much? Nice work. John

I really like the division of light and shadow here. --Melanie

Nice composition - I love the light on the lighthouse, and the contrast with the beautiful blue water and sky!
